Videos 7/25/10

Shot this on my IPHONE, great for a phone! Just need a better mount to stop the vibration. I had it on a PDA suction mount, which had to long an arm.
Running on old street tires from the benz and it was a bit loose out there. 60.6 fun run with passenger. Thanks Warren and Larry C. for the tire plug. No fun finding a flat tire when you are about to leave.

Other cool aspects of the phone/camera, a BIG display facing driver/pass that shows what the camera is shooting, very decent mic & of course the touch screen interface.

Makes me want one.

Can you buy one of these & NOT activate it for phone use & the camera still works?

I like the smaller size of my dumb phone to clip on belt.

Signed,

Passenger

Thanks for the ride Carl

That is pretty damn good for an Iphone. Could you run the MaxQdata ap and the Camera at the same time?

Here is my video shot from my STS Del Sol: 60.5

On the limiter too much around the second slalom and never actually got the right hand turn coming down the hill right.

Really fun course though. Great job San Diego!

We are writing an app for the phone for autocrossing.

Froggy... yes. You don't need a phone plan to use the phone as a video iPod.

The problem with the phone is the slower cmos shutter causing the large waves in the video. This is made worse by vibration, but it is a problem regardless of how the phone is mounted.

Hand-Controlled ROUSH 427R Autocross Video

This is a video shot this past Saturday of Al Kovach Jr., National Vice President of the PVA (Paralyzed Veterans of America) powering around the autocross track in his ROUSH 427R. Actual times 63-65 seconds. Enjoy and let me know if you would like to see more of these videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImJBztVFtxI

yes, having trouble putting power down too. I loosened up the front bar- add that with the old tires and it did not help much either. Have to decide know on what street tires to run? 265 kumho xs currently, anything larger from any of the extreme brands and the tire dia. jumps up quite a bit. Wish there was a street tire in 24.8dia. /285. or 305.

I have not tried to run both at the same time or the Max q data ap. I have heard it would give incomplete data without higher Hz.
I wonder if Randy's app will be able to have data like maxqdata? G's, speed, and track map would be nice. Maxq has 5 , 10 and 20 hertz models in their gps receivers. I asked an apple technical support manager what the Hz on the Iphone is and after some time he came back that it is not shared info.

Datsun 510-5.0

OK, it is my first run with a camera (thanks to my club mates!) and I neglected to tighten the mount completely so it is at an odd angle, my fault!
It was a great course and much fun!

Thanks for a course that even I couldn't get lost on!

Will Chasecam be designing a mount for these as well?
