Safety Steward Training on Tuesday March 19th

The San Diego region of SCCA is looking for members interested in stepping up and training to be a Solo Safety Steward and/or Solo Youth Steward. We are looking to add at least 4 more members to the group of Safety and Youth Stewards. We are having a free training program on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at 6:00pm in the Kearny Mesa area. This will also be for any current Solo Safety and Youth Stewards who would like a refresher on those programs. This will probably last about 2 hours.

When you volunteer as a Safety Steward for the day, that does count as your work assignment, so it can be a nice change of pace from working course.

If you are interested, send an e-mail to Robbie Robinson at: so he can reserve your spot, and let you know the specifics of the training location.

What is a Youth Steward? Hell, what tasks is a Solo Safety Steward responsible for? Is this for me? What qualities does the ideal candidate possess?

A Youth Steward must be present when the Jr. Karts run, and is responsible for the Safety of the Jr. Kart drivers. Solo Safety Steward is responsible for making sure the overall event is being run in a safe manor, and would be the one to fill out paperwork if there was an issue. It's for anyone willing to spend a few hours learning the rules, and willing to trade working course/gate/etc. for working as a Safety Steward for the day. We need lots of them so we don't burn out the few we have. Nothing super tricky with either position. Hopefully you can join us on Tuesday.
