    Hi Michael,

I have the set that are on my car right now. They are my daily drivers, but not in love with them. They are not shiny like your old ones, though.

What was my worst mess up at the SCAT champ (besides dirty on 3 runs)?

    Thanks!

    :)

I did the finish slalom "inside" the last run & it worked & I think was my best scratch time.

    :)

    Michael,

Thanks so much for your patience, hard work in the heat, and tackling the challenge of teaching a "Geezer" to drive.

I learned a lot - certainly the importance of line and also the fact that my Miata could go around corners a lot faster than I ever thought.

During the timed runs, I scored an 82 sec run followed by an 80.2 sec run. My third run was an abort 1/2 way through. Didn't know why for sure, but the car just went electrically dead and I had to pull off the course. I soon discovered the key was off. Apparently, the more forward driving position placed my right knee in proximity to the ignition switch and the attached remote. I think my knee just wedged in there accidentally and rotated the key. In the future, I will use only the key, not the key plus remote and house key etc.

In any case, I was not too disappointed with my times as they were faster than many of the drivers who had been driving longer than I. Your positive criticism and encouragement were big helps.

I know volunteering as an instructor means a long, hard, day. Many simply will not commit to it and we both could probably name a few.

I certainly am grateful for the gift of the time of one of the best performance drivers in the region.

    Thanks again, Michael.

You have added to an already enjoyable sport.

    Jeff,

I'm not really a Miata expert. You can try Steve at C2 Motorsports...he knows all!!

    Best wishes.

    Michael,
I could use some help. I have an 03 Miata SE that came with 16" wheel. Other itterations of the MX5 for that year had 15s. Question, can I run 15" wheels (205/50/15) on my 03 Miata SE, or am I stuck with the 205 45/16s that came with the car? I run SK2.

    Jeff (#40)
