any chance of converting Saturday January 28
SCAT's Practice into a ProSolo practice...?? :o
just want to find out IF there is enough interest
to acctually make this happen, last year's was a
blast, and it would be kind of pointless to have it
later on the year after LA's National ProSolo

The idea was raised at the e-board meeting last night. There was some reservations from SCAT.
SCNAX offered to set up the ProSolo course and also handle timing and scoring. The problem is that in January, we have limited daylight and they (SCAT) would need to design a new course for Sunday after the ProSolo was completed.
After some more thought about this, I think it could still be done, specially if we plan on the ProSolo practice finishing earlier, like before 4:00pm. Some parts of the ProSolo course could be used for the next day (we did this last year) and other parts of the course/grid could also be done on Saturday while the ProSolo was running.
Still, it would be up to SCAT if they wanted to.

Personally, participating in a ProSolo practice sounds exciting.
However, if this virtually guarantees that there will be zero fun runs due to daylight, I vote for waiting till the summer for a well-planned, well-publicized ProSolo practice.
Of course - for all I know - a ProSolo practice may typically give more seat time than yer average Solo2 practice.

Pro Solo courses are shorter because the setup is 2 mirrored courses, so it's likely you'll get more seat time.

very likely, everybody has to run both courses to make it even
so, even though the course is shorter, u have to run it twice..
and if u get into the finalists, u can run again!! ... so the better
u do, hte more runs u get!!!! how is that for incentive....?:D

And there we were setting up Sunday's course well into the darkness, throwing out the planned course and trying to use pieces of the Pro Solo courses to get done, making many changes, driving pieces of the course to check it out, getting DQ'd the next day for doing so...ahh, good times, good times!

No doubt, but those things could be solved if that was the intention beforehand. Not just throw the lot over to another club and have the event run late, and the course designer leave too.
It could be different. :)

Hey, I'll volunteer to get DQ'd for doing fun laps... er I mean test laps. :D

There is not going to be a chance for that.

I wish some one brought the Idea to my attention before we decided (stay tuned, the flyer should be posted soon) what the practice would look like. On the other hand, SCNAX members own the equipment, and I didn't want to step on their toes. SCNAX LA does have the Feb event, I will bring it up, up there.
