Hey guys, I'd do a search for this but I don't think the search feature is working right now.
Anyway, 2 questions....
1) Is there a recommended procedure for breaking in RT-615s?
2) Will taking them to Streets of Willow (after breaking them in, of course) for a day kill the tires?
Thanks guys,
Stephen
Like any other street tire, tire rack recommends you drive on them without hard braking, cornering, and acceleration for the first 500 miles. Also, to keep the speed under 70 mph until the break-in period is over. Some people say that it's fine not to break them in while others like myself prefer to do it for the peace of mind. Oh, I've noticed that my 615s wear faster than my 215s. Have anyone noticed this as well? Their tread rating is the same. Both tires, if my memory serves me right, were driven equally hard. I had my 215s for about 10 months before they corded and I've only had the 615s for 2 months and I'm almost at the tread wear indicator!!!

Stephen, don't worry about it. We aren't Mario Andetti.
I have also noticed the faster wear. WAY faster.

I guess when I took some sticker 215s and scrubbed them in at Streets of Willow that wasn't following the Tire Rack recommendation. Still, they worked pretty well except in really hot weather.

Thanks for the response guys. I guess I can get them a week in advance and drive them around for a while.
I didn't think Tire Rack sold any Falkens.
