First timer question.

Hey guys, I am planning on attending my first auto x on this Sunday Feb. 11, and just wanted to ask a few questions. Do I register at the event? Where can I get a solo II card and SCCA membership? Does the event still go on rain or shine? Thanks in advance!

You register at the event, though some clubs sometimes allow pre-registration for champ events it is not required.

You buy the Solo2 card (think of it as a San Diego autox drivers license) on site, at registration. SCCA memberships are also sold there. Make sure to get in the correct line for cards, there is nothing worse than standing in the wrong line. Make sure to get there early (around 8, at the latest). Registration closes at noon, and cards won't be sold after that time.

It's practices that you need to pre-register for, simply to ensure your entry. They fill fast.

Nalbar is right on, except that you should get there even earlier in you're running in the morning- more like 7:30. Especially for the first event of the year. Buy card, then register, the take part in the novice coursewalk.

For afternoon groups, 10:30 is probably a good time.
