Hello. I'm interested in joining a club and was wondering if someone provide some details about TART. I am interested in anything regarding your guidelines and requirements. Any information you could provide would be great. Thanks for your time.

In TART, Rick Perry runs the show and is president for life.
No meetings
No Votes
No socials
No Hassels
Of course you're expected to work Tart sponsored events (TART has fewer events than any other Club)

If you're looking for a social club (and talking with other racers is always a plus), there are others more suited to that role.

If you want a no hassel club for points, TART is the choice.

Hey magicman use all fingers & toes:)

2005 Champ events from the official page

DCCSD 2,
SCAT 2,
SDAD 3,
TART 3,
SCNAX 3

Plus all the clubs pitch in on multi club practices, Tour, and I think TART did do an EXCELLENT saturday practice not listed. We pull our weight so far as putting on events:)
as do all the clubs.

Is this working through the entire event, or is there opportunity to drive during the events as well?

With all the clubs you drive but you're expected to be on call to work extra when needed, help set up and tear down the course, work the fun run group, and show up for the free pizza and beer!:)

Also, some clubs offer a discount to your entry when hosting the event. Some more than others. TART used to be mostly Corvettes but that has evolved  lately...

That's 'Uncle Perv' to my friends.

mievil et al.......

As POP TART let me give you a little background on TART and what we do. Years back the Corvette Club was an AUTOX member club. They moved away from racing and that left several of us without a member club. I was chairman of the Racing Association, then called San Diego Autocross Association (SDAA), at the time. So in 1988, I and several other racers formed TART.

Basically, I run the business matters of the club. Another member, Jeff Lonsdale, attends the SOLO2 Committee meetings, votes, and represents TART. As a club, we do not have formal scheduled club meetings, we do however, meet and discuss issues during events and at several social events (usually dinner or brunch) held annually. We are the smallest member club, yet we put on as many or more events every year as any other member club. We take pride in the belief that we TART members put on the best managed, on time events, with minimal disruptions. If you have attended a TART event, I think you will agree.

TART members are expected to attend and work at TART sponsored events. Work consists of doing whatever is necessary to ensure that the event is well managed and conducted to the benefit of attending drivers. TART members are also required to work the required one run group during any event that they attend.

TART has numerous AUTOX related items for TART members use. Some examples are, portable digital scales, camber/caster, toe, and bump steer gauges.

We welcome new prospective members.
We are looking for quality, not quantity.

If you have other TART related questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks,
Rick Perry

Historically, Jeff votes what Rick says to vote. "NO!" (no matter the subject) After YEARS of meetings, Jeff has gone out on a few limbs and at the Dec meeting, I believe voted YES on everything. (Sorry Jeff, didn't mean to out you)

Well.... some people believe in the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Santa Clause......;)

Well spoken Rick, and argued Craig. Personally, I hope we reach the point where the only difference between events is course design. Event management should be transparent to the participant. On the other hand, I believe that CLUBS should reflect the personality of their members and those looking to join clubs will investigate and study the personality traits of each club.
