Sweet, only one conflict for a champ event.
Do you know what phase(s) might be offered at the Evolution? I'm up for phase 3 or more having done 1 & 2.

What's this? Same as a SoPac divisional? I thought the Tour was going to act as S.D.R.'s Divisional, then CalClub was going to come up w/a date, LVR, AZ, etc.

Hate to ask, but being a complete newb, what is CalClub? Is it just another club along the lines of SCAT and SCNAX and the likes, or something different. This whole club thing is a little confusing.
And what is entailed at the Evolution Driving School? Feel free to direct me to a different thread if the information is available elsewhere so I don't clutter this up too badly.

Cal Club is California Sports Car Club, the LA area SCCA region.
More general info on Evo schools here:

Locally, Robert Puertas handles coordination for the Evo schools held in the area. He's Randy's co-driver and owns Black Watch Racing.

Bill,
As I understand it, there was some discussion to have a divisional series at LVR, AZ, Cal Club, and SD. I think it could make sense to use the Tour as one leg, but we were asked to set aside a weekend for a Divisional.
For others, a Divisional is kinda like a regional tour event. The idea is for the folks in the region to come in and compete. The hope here is that enough people would be interested in travelling to the other areas in the region. A series of events. So one could run in Arizona, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Los Angeles. To run a Divisional, you need to be an SCCA member. The difference from a Tour is that the region puts on the event, not SCCA national staff. In our case, all clubs would be involved in hosting the event, kinda like we do the Tour.
We will be allowing non-SCCA members to enter on Sunday and run just like a regular championship, and those points earned on Sunday are just like any other Sunday points.
mievil- Cal Club is the Los Angeles region. Not a club. I listed the Cal Club events also because a number of us run in Los Angeles. If you don't care to drive to LA, then just ignore those.

The EVO thing is very preliminary. As in..maybe it will happen. I have no idea what phases would be offered.

Gotcha. With your and Randy's explanation, I'm good to go. I'm assuming CalClub has a site up? Where do they hold their events?

Most events are held at the California Speedway parking lots in Fontana.

Using the Tour was my first thought as San Diego is usually a stick in the mud with SCCA things :D . But after talking with Robbie (2005 Divisional Steward) a couple months back he recommended grabbing a stand alone date.
We will be allowing non-SCCA members to enter on Sunday and run just like a regular championship, and those points earned on Sunday are just like any other Sunday points.I'm trying to imagine how this is going to flow well. We should try to equal out both days, but as it stands Saturday will be thin and Sunday will be crowded. It's against the rules and just rude to have both days count for regional points. Is the intention to have Saturday open to non-SCCA also? We should think of some incentive for them to show up on Saturday.

I wonder how much difference there really would be, but you could be right. Perhaps an idea would be to consider Saturday a practice for those that enter the Divisional as non-SCCA members. Still not sure though how many would enter Saturday for a 3 run practice, but the number would be higher than not allowing them on Saturday.

Maybe go the other way. If we expect a good enough turn out, make Sat/Sun open to SCCA and S.D. Club members only (i.e. exclude people not earning local points).

SDR doesn't allow for a double-regional?

For 2006, make that all of them are at Cal Speedway, Lot 12 or 8. :)

In the interest of SoPac Divisional awareness, Las vegas Region is having their first event of 2006 on January 22 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Henderson.

Randy,
Belated Happy Birthday! :)
Also, the schedule at the beginning of this thread lists the Tour as March 2-5 instead of 3-5. Is there really something happening on Thursday? And, the last SD events listed are a practice and championship on July 28-29, which would be Fri-Sat. Those dates aren't on the SDR site's sked. Are they real and really 29-30? :D
And, August 12 Cal Club Practice is actually the Night of the Living Dead event. All together now:
BRAAAAIIINS!!!!
Last, but not least, Nov. 24 Practice; 25th Ladies School; 26th Championship

That was for the EVO school, which is now on Friday.

Blame Qualcomm. Those are the dates they gave me on the spreadsheet, but you are correct that they must be 29-30 instead.
