Solo racing with all of you has been one of the best things I've ever done. I've made good friends and I know that racing has saved my sanity more often than it's challenged it.

But now I must say goodbye because I've taken a job with the paper in Stockton. It's a good opportunity for me: I'll be managing the night news desk with a staff of 11 people.

I don't know if I'll make the November event, but I hope to see everyone at the Tours and Pros.

Best wishes Bob! The pleasure has been mine and I know you will stay in touch via the forum and national events.

The Sacramento Region SCCA runs autoxes at the Stockton fairgrounds. It's a postage stamp lot, but a very laid back group. Fun events.

And don't forget the Bay Area Autox boards:

Plus, there's at least one San Diego transplant in Sacramento who's been known to occassionally go autoxing in Stockton (me, in case that wasn't obvious).

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Nothing to be sad about, it's just closing one door and entering another, part of life's trip. Besides, you're much closer to ButtonWillow and Thunderhill...

Aww, Bob! You have been a fantastic friend and a great companion at many a race over the years....you will be missed down here!

On the other hand, now we have a place to sleep for the Atwater Tour/Pro!!!

Andrew,

I didn't know you were up there. Cool!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes! :)

[Also, I've heard from Randy that Atwater is no more. Guess it was to close to civilization for SCCA to hold a Pro.]
