View Full Version : Rule Question For Your Local Championship
You guys can drop three of 12 events ... correct?
Your northern CSCC brothers and sisters feel that if you can't do at least 10 of 12 events, you aren't committed, and/or, care too much about friends and/or family beyond your AX'ing family, and/or aren't wealthy enough to go after a local championship, ie. you're a freelancer or otherwise have to occasionally work on weekends, when you should be doing another three laps. And they wonder why participation is dropping off, especially towards the end of the season.

Our rule is 2/3. So for a 12 event year, we'd only have to run 8 events for year-end points. 10 out of 12 is pretty hardcore...

Doesn't LA allow you to use your results from National events you travel to?
If so, that is a difference with SDR. In SDR, it can be hard to make a serious run for annual points if you travel to SCCA events in other cities.

Gezz Mako, stop whining. We just got a proposal on the table two days ago. You're by far your worst enemy on this issue.

On the other hand, CSCC only requires entry into 1/2 of the events to be eligible for a year end trophy. It's just that you only get to drop 2 events (3 if there are 13 or more). It's possible for someone with less than 10 events to win if he/she dominates the class by enough. Obviously in a tightly contested class you need to make at least 10.
