Virtually every morning of every championship event, there arises a plaintive cry for novice instructors which often goes unanswered in the first and second run groups.
Nope, the instructors are not mean or lazy; by our rules, however, they cannot compete in their class if they have previously ran the course either as a driver or passenger. The only exceptions are the safety steward and the driver chosen to drive the safety run.
There is now a solution to this problem. The eboard recently voted to allow X (practice) entries whether or not the driver had already entered and run in a championship class.
So, if you need instruction and your class runs in the first couple groups, skip your normal class and run in x later in the day when a number of our instructors have done their runs and can help you without penalty.
