Hey guys, thought I'd post my event up here. My Neon and Dakota are too tarmac specific, but most stock and mildly lowered cars/trucks should do well out here. I'm trying to get my MR2 out (along with the event van and a Rental Car). If all you guys back from nationals are disappointed it didn't rain, here's your opportunity to do the slip and slide.

The inaugural Johnson Valley RallyX (near Victorville) is happening on Oct 14th and 15th. It is far, but should present lots of seat time. Especially with the addition of solo-like 'X' runs.

Each day is a separate event. We're hoping to get 6 runs per entry. $40 pre-reg SCCA (or CRS) for first entry, $30 for additional classes (Sunday or X runs). Lunch provided each day. Maybe a little party Saturday night. Both SCCA and local CRS classes are accommodated, everyone will have a good place to play.

There will be a rental car availible for reservations!,
so no whining excuses[:)]

Check out the event page and send any questions either to the SoCal RallyX forums or directly to me at woodrufj@jaycomservices.com.

This should be an awesome RallyX venue - land measured in square miles and a smooth surface!

True - and what other venue would provide a rental car even?

Wednesday is the last day of Pre-Reg. Small, but usable turnout. Its looking like we might get 8 runs/entry.

Good Luck Everyone. Next RallyX is scheduled for Nov 4th and 5th.

How'd the event go? Did you get rain? I was seriously planning on heading out Saturday morning, but the deluge pointed out a pretty awesome leak in my ceiling at 4am.

Weather sucked a little Saturday. Mostly the cold and fairly high wind. Not much rain out there during the event. Decent rain before, but that area sucks it right up. Many stayed home because it was raining pretty good in their areas. I think we only ended up with 10ish entryies.

Sunday's weather couldn't have been much better. Cool morning, topping out at 70deg. Slight wind, sunny skys. I think we pulled out 21 drivers, which is enough to make it worth it.

End of Sunday got pretty dusty as the surface went silty. It is going to be a dirty place, but that's what you get in the desert.

Next event is Nov 4-5th. Saturday should bring good participation as its a CRS points event. Don't expect more than 6 runs any more. Dec is likely going to be pushed back a week to Dec 9-10.

Another bird just wispered in my ear, that unless someone already got contracted for the Dec date, there will be no more Del Mar. :-(

Bummer.

But it's pretty well sorted that the location you host at doesn't necessarily have any ride height restrictions, correct?

Were there complaints? Problems? Funding?

The message I got pretty much was saying Del Mar's plan for the area doesn't include rallyXes. Weather there's something else behind that or not, who knows.

Take it slow to get to the site but once you're on the site, a lowered car would do fine.

Del Mar is in fact done as a RallyX venue as per the fairgrounds...:(

No specific reason was given but you can scratch off the remaining Del Mar date.

Please make plans to join us at one of the remaining Johnson Valley dates or the 2-day CRS RallyX in Laughlin, NV: http://rallyusa.com/competition_info/rally_cross.html on Nov 11&12.
