If I am unable to get my Focus out of the body shop by the next event, and would like to use a different vehicle for a champ event, do I use the same number, just a different class? And how would that work in the overall points run for the year (even though I've already been pushed out of that because I haven't made even close to the required number of entries.) Just wondering.

You use your number no matter what car you drive.
If the substitute car happens to be in the same class, it will count for your year-end points. If it's in a different class, then it won't be counted for your year-end points.

So anyone have an idea on which SP category a Cobalt LS fits? I see it's in HS, and it would be a good guess as to FSP, but since I don't see it in the classing, it appears to fit into CSP as a sedan with over 1.7L of disp. Which seems slightly out of place. Or does that just mean that I can't run it in a Street Prepared class?

CSP it is. Newer cars falling into a catch-all class description are often not properly classed until SCCA decides to make an explicit entry for them.
