Monday night was the Executive Board meeting. A brief look at the items discussed-

Past Events
TART practice had 80 entrants. Championship event had 154 + more X runs
SCNAX event had 167 entrants with 4 runs each.

Discussion was held about tightness of SCNAX course. Noted was that it was a first time course design.

Discussion was held about worker change over taking too long, regardless of run/work format. Further discussion about modifying run/work format to make it work better. Discussion about penalizing those who show up late to work by making them work the far corner. Noted that workers can still get swapped out on the fly. One idea was to change format to-

Run-Work
1 3
2 5
3 1
-lunch-
4 6
5 2
6 1
And a couple other variations
Downside is some people will have to be there all day. Positive is not work run groups back to back for anyone.

Another idea-
Run-Work
1 2
2 1
-Lunch-
3 5
4 6
5 3
6 4

Or a variation
Run Work
1 3
2 4
3 1
4 2
-lunch-
5 6
6 5

It was noted that event chairs need to understand that grids should be layed out in even numbers not including the two driver lane. That makes the grid person's job a lot easier. For example, 4 lanes plus the 2-driver lane means he releases two lanes, then the two driver lane, then two lanes, then the two driver again.

It was also noted that the standard should be a full lane is released and then another lane is released, not taking the car from the front of each lane. Everyone needs to return to the lane they were in.

We tried out the new high end Motorola SRF radios. One was in the trailer, one in grid, one at the gate and one at start. It was asked that Start be given some headphones. Results of using the radios were positive.

The Executive Assistant Chair of ATP (All Things Paper) is retiring at the end of this year. This person replaces all the forms, car numbers on paper, etc. This person has to check the stock at the end of each event and replace as needed. We are looking for a volunteer. Feel free to step forward. If someone does not step forward, event chairs will have to be more involved in this task.

Note, if anyone is having to run out of order for any reason, it is important to make sure that the Grid Chief understands what is happening. This came up recently with the FSAE team at the last event. Not a big deal, just tell the grid guy.

Lot Chair report. Some discussion with a Navy guy about using the base. He drives a Corvette. Lot Chair announced his retirement and we will be looking for a new person to take on this responsibility.

Sound Chair report was given. It was noted that the Sound Chair is retiring and there is no replacement. The Sound Chair has the task of getting the sound logs from each event, sending out letters to the violators. Talking to them. And sometimes being the mean guy that says they are done running. :) If we don't have a replacement, these responsibilies fall on the Region Chair and then then Event Chairs.

School had 9 openings as of Monday.

The new trailer was discussed. There was a proposal to increase the budget from the previous figure to a higher number (in very rough/round numbers, something like $17k to $23K). There was some discussion about getting more bids. A vote was taken and the proposal to increase the amount for the new trailer and for the trailer committee to proceed with the next step passed 3-2. Voting no were SCAT and SDAD.

The proposal to allow F-Mod to run as an individual class passed. Also included in the proposal was merging the remainder of M2 with M1, so there is now just M1 (indexed) and F-Mod. All clubs voted yes. This is effective start of 2006.

A modified proposal was submitted by SDAD to make the F-MOD separate class a one year probationary item. If the class does
not have 3 FM entrants that qualify for year end trophies at the end of 2006, then FM will revert to an indexed part of the new M1 class. This proposal passed 5-0.

Another proposal from SDAD was submitted. This would allow permiited drivers (typically age 15 1/2) which require a licensed adult passenger over the age of 25, to not be required to run in Novice class. This proposal passed 5-0 effective 1-1-06.

For example, 4 lanes plus the 2-driver lane means he releases two lanes, then the two driver lane, then two lanes, then the two driver again.Note this is how Saturday was set up.

First, THANKS for taking the time to post this stuff, Randy -
It's appreciated!:D

The first example format is missing a "4" in the work column, I think...

With two "1s" in the work. He probably meant to have the last group be Run 6, Work 4 instead.
