I want to make a master cylinder brace. I need a piece of aluminum about 3" long by 1.5" wide by 1/4" thick, bent into an L bracket. I have found 1/8" strips at Home Depot, but not the 1/4". Anyone know a good place to find that kind of hardware?

You can also try
Marshall's Industrial Hardware
8423 Production Ave.
(858) 271-5555
(Just North of Miramar Road between the 805 and 15 freeways)
Maybe call ahead to see if they have it in stock.
Do you just need one? I think we have some 1/4" ali angle scrap floating around at work.

nik, yes, just one L bracket. About 1.25" on the short end of the L, and 3" on the long side. 1.5" wide all the way. That'd be great if you had some scrap. Otherwise, it appears I'll have to find a way to bend a strip.

IMS is the place. I found a 1/4" aluminum L bracket in the right size in their scrap pile. No charge! I bought the bolts and now have to drill the holes in the bracket.
Cool, the stuff we had turned out to be 3/8" anyway. IMS is where we get all of our stock, good people.
