View Full Version : SK2L for 2012 season
Does anyone know any ladies out there interested in building up SK2L? I'd like to run in it next year but I'd like a variety of competition! Spread the word...

Now Ceci is mad at me for defiling our Miata with after market gear! If she had a car she would be out there with you! (She has a Mazda3 but it's not SK2).

Now Ceci has a Mazda3. But not for long.
There, fixed it for you Craig. Go Ceci go!

She was driving my car about as fast as I was in the wet on Saturday and pretty close if not the same as Hank's time in their Miata so I approve of this statement.

Craig is now realizing that the Mazda3 we have owned for 5 years is SK2 OK. I think there is a PAX calculation you do to see how much time Rae would have to give to me (Ceci) since I would be in a G stock front wheel drive.
I think about an hour! Sound right? ha ha
Ceci - come on girls, we started it now, there have to be more out there.
Guantlet two down!

Close to Hank yes, but I think it was Hank close to Rae today...

Actually....not so close. Rea..63.797, Hank...64.776. Hank had two DNF's, and hit a cone last run.
Too much pressure? I ask, you decide.
There is a phrase in autox that describes Hank's runs... Dead F#%king Last. A DFL.

That rain was a lot of fun, but we were all two or more seconds apart from one another!

Bring. It.
Although I am trying to convince Rae to run ES with me now that she's pulled some skill out of her butt today :p

Yeesh, no love.
Getting last in ES was nothing compared to locking up the brakes on that ridiculous SSM Honda :o. Felt fine going downhill up until after the boxes. Then it was understeer heaven...shoulda weaseled myself into getting a second run...that thing felt like it was on ice skates. Amazed me that he spent more on his engine than Rae and I did on our entire Miata and yet didn't think to pick up tires with <360 treadwear.
And to be fair, I got a respectable 63.9...in the Mustang.

All I can say about Rae beating Hank is:

You know, not even I know wtf that means. But yes, Rae beat me. I'm happy, because now there's talk about getting her own tools so she can help me during installs. Regardless, they'll be revenge at the next event!
BTW, you should get your girlfriend to join autox that way she can compete against Rae too...O wait, I forgot, nobody's really sure she's even real ;)

Another phrase for what happened to Hank....'skirted'.

Since I started the same time as, and have run in the same classes as, Barbara, Leslie, and Mara, I probably have the most experience being skirted of anyone out there. Keys to surviving it:
1) Excuses are not manly and should never be made. I don't care if the wheels feel off on your first run.
2) Saying the course sucked and was only suitable for girls is not manly and should never be done.
3) All ribbing, teasing, and other critical behavior from your buds should be dealt with in a manly way. No whimpering, no crying, no boo-boo lips.
4) The only appropriate responses to any query from the female doing the skirting are the following: "Yes, Mistress", "As you wish, my Queen", and "Please don't hurt me". But, you must say all of these words in a strong, manly fashion.
Now, since I was skirted yesterday as well, I'm feeling some stress. So, I think I'll light a few candles, put on some Kenny G, and take a nice hot bubble bath.
Note to any female who has read this and has skirted me: This post is meant to be satirical and in no way expresses my true feelings on the matter. Please don't hurt me.
I do have an excuse!: The course was better suited for a conservative driving style. It didn't favor any sort of "attacking" of the course

If this was the case then I would've been terribad on Sunday.

Thanks for making my point :)
Hank, I don't think many people would call my driving style "conservative." In fact, most who ride in my car say things along the lines of "well, lack of aggression isn't YOUR problem!" So you're FOS, dear. ;)
Ceci and Craig - I look forward to seeing the Mazda 3 out there! We should have some fun competition going!!!!
Ron and Warren - Hank's responding well to being "skirted." He now fetches my slippers, makes my morning coffee, and has supper on the table when I get home. In a very manly fashion. :-D

I should have never encouraged her to get on the forums...
Before she didn't know a thread from a post, and now I got to get grief at home AND electronically.

Event results don't track when I do non autocross related things with Hank. Oh yes.
Shhhh! I don't need people knowing we're friends. I'm getting enough grief for last event, I don't need to be associated with Captain Slo-balt!

I was very saddened when you slaughtered my best time on Sat by a full second. Especially given my 66.1 was in the dry and your 65 something was in the wet. :(
Don't worry Ryan. He was very saddened when I slaughtered his best time on Sunday by a full second. ATTACK OF THE SKIRT! MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The trick now is for me to repeat it...

Couldn't just leave well enough alone, honey!
How easily we forget the 2 seconds I had on you on Saturday with my only potato-free-cat run! And the 3+ seconds in the Cobalt!
It's on now. It's on like Donkey Kong. Loser this weekend buys dinner and beers and R comps for next year :P

you get the new cat yet?
Wanted to update people on Rae's condition and her participation in SK2L in case anyone was wondering why she wasn't racing this past event after starting a thread calling all girls to join in on the fun! She couldn't race this week due to surgery but she will be next month!
Either way, she WILL be racing in the future. Hope this gives someone the incentive to join in if they thought they'd already be behind because they couldn't make January's event!
