Any chance Larry R (#108, my dad) and Cliff R (#334, me) can be moved to yellow? We'll be in seperate cars. If not yellow, atleast the same group.

How about Bob P.? First he makes his check out to ME than he forgets his number! HAHAHA! What a noob! ;)

It's very possible I made the ck payable to the wrong person/club trusting person that I am, but, what the heck number did I put down? Maybe you misread it. I was taught the Palmer method of penmanship about 100 years ago.

:)

PS Who's doing the course?

I think they are members of some secret society.;)

:D I am! I'm trying to design a course that favors a WRX and makes the 'vettes spin out (but spin out safely, but I might not get this right). :D

Hi, I'm new and would like to participate in the practice. I ran the championship event last weekend (joined SCCA, bought card number, paid event fee) and definately need a lot more seat time. Who and where do I send a check? How do I join SCNAX? Thanks.

Practice flyer is here

http://www.sdr-scca.com/solo2/schedule/4_22_06-practice.pdf

Its filling fast, so send an entry. You don't need to be a SCNAX member to enter, but if your interested in joining SCNAX contact Warren ("Nalbar").

Randy, can you edit the "Event Notification" thread title to include the date of the SCNAX events. All the other events have it, but ours got missed. Might be causing some confusion.

Since I'm the only one who has noticed the Blue and Green groups have 19 entries, while the Red and Yellow have 20, dibs on one of the open slots! (I already sent in my entry.)

Hah! Thanks. I have to take responsibility though for signing up late!

If you got my entry, where abouts am I on the wait list. With 15 there already it doesn't look promising...

Damn I thought 2 weeks would be enough lead time. So when can I sign up for the next practice?

I am 885 and she is 886. It would be really great if we can both get in.

Thanks,

According to the list at the top, as of right now, you're in and your wife is #1 on the wait list. I'd say your chances are pretty good. I'd bet money there's at least one no-show on Saturday.

Hey VMAN!

Actually I call not when you make the practice, but when you don't. I have not made those calls yet because we have people dropping, and the wait list is changing.

However, you are now aware of where you stand on the list, so you should keep an eye on this site.

BTW, what's you and your wifes numbers?

WAIT LIST...
Event Chair here. I recommend the top 5 on the waiting list show up and stand by. Its very, very likely there'll be no shows. There remainder of the waiting list should show up in the morning if they have nothing pressing to do, its possible you can get in.

Well you got one to spin big (not me) but it was black. The course suited me fine.

On a serious note future course designers may want to look at how close those skid marks got to "THE GATE". I recall a third cone was added to that slalom on Sunday to "slow it down". I looked at the marks as I drove out at the end of the day. Maybe 50 ft. or 40.

Well the xtra cone probably did slow it down but a car set up loose (or on tires past their prime) is still a candidate for a spin & it does slope off towards the gate. Momentum being what it is......

I don't think SCCA will like it much if the gate gets hit again.

Not a complaint, I had a blast & enjoyed the course, but that is a touchy part of the course there.

FWIW

I don't want to take your money, we'll ck it out in 2 weeks. Definately closer than 100 ft, we'll pace it off.

I'm not saying it was a "close call" or anything, but if I were to design a course, I'd make that section fairly straight & set up the "speed bumps" before or later than right there.

Yes the marks will still be there, big fat Vette tires make big marks.

Not sure what part you are talking about, but if this is the Saturday course I was involved with, I can guarantee that at no point were we even close to 50' from a gate.

Most people don't have a very good idea of distances. Not saying you don't.... but it is common to think a distance a handful of car lengths is 40', when it really is 100'. For example, your common suburban house's front lawn is often around 100' wide. That is not a lot.

Unless, of course, that car is an Elise. :)

Sunday, and I'm saying the end of the SKID MARKS are closer to the gate than 100 ft. It's supposed to rain , so if anyone cares to check it.......

It's no big deal to me, I'm not one of those that complains about every course even tho my car is on the "large size" so far as autox goes.

I was checking it out with the guy that laid down the marks & he also said closer to 50 ft than 100 ft.

:)

Actually you said the marks were 40-50 feet from the gate near the main entrance to the stadium. I am the one who said the COURSE was 100 feet from that gate. The rule is course 50 feet from hard objects (that is for karts, it's 35 for cars). If the MARKS were 50 feet (I believe FAR more because of the slolumn) that would be WELL within SCCA rules.

It's important to realize that at no time was the course (at that location) any different than we have run 20+ times. It's quite limited in what you can do there, because of chunking.

Congrats on your win over Jeff, Bob. Nothing like watching the Safety Steward get beat like a rug hung over a closeline to make my day!

:D

nalbar

Thanks & I give up, I exaggerated, there are NO marks, I made up the whole thing. The Vette driver did not spin out on that slalom, ever. And if there are marks they are from some drift event held previously and they were made by Mark Donahue an old SCCA race car driver. :D

He GOT MY ATTENTION when he put down a 63.395 on his first run. And he's beat me soundly a bunch of times. :)

A win is pretty fun, tho. Did I have a stupid smile on my face the rest of the day? I hope so.
