I was reading through the supplementary regulations and saw this class. I was all worried about needing R compound tires to be competative in DS but I can just slap SK2 on the side and not have to worry about tires with treadwear rating less than 140?

Depending on how you interpret your statement...
If you slap SK2 on the side, then you should worry about having a TW<140... because you will be cheating :)
It might be better to say you can slap SK2 on the side and then not worry about having a TW greater than/= 140 'cause so will all the other SK2ers.
But yeah, SK2 will be fine for you.
One thing you will find is a lot more competitors in SK2:
DS : expect 1-2
SK2 : around a dozen
but having competition is usually viewed as a good thing

Good luck & have fun,

So you want to be beat by 2 guys or a dozen, Ryan? :D jk, I'm just glad you're going to finally fork over for some tires, yeesh.

Meanwhile, you'll always have a place in STX :)

I think I'm going to run SK2 from now on because I like how many people there are to compete against. Since all the rules applying to stock classes apply here, when I do get a second set of wheels/tires for autox use they need to be the same size as the stock wheels/tires correct?

Same width and diameter. Offset needs to be within .25.
