Looking for a competitive car for auto-x use, which is street-legal, i.e. can be driven to and from events.

Preference (and budget) has me leaning towards '89, '90, '91 Corvette - however I will consider anything which has been very well maintained and has been set up correctly for competition use.

Please e-mail any details to fcassidy@yahoo.com - or if you know of any good websites/magazines where these cars can be found, I'd love to know.

Thanks.

Grassroots Motorsports Magazine (Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc.) is a great source for info. Once you've looked into vehicles that might meet your criteria, cars can be found nearly anywere. Last year's car came from eBay ($3600.00), this year's car was swiped quickly from Craigslist ($150). There are always deals to be had, do a lot of research!

Thanks for the advice. Regarding C4 Corvettes - I've been told that the '89 is the one to have for autocross, slightly lighter, fast steering rack, low ratio diff, etc. Others have told me it makes no difference if it is '89, 90 , 91 etc. If anyone could advise on this I'd appreciate it.

Brian Robertson has a set up 89 or so for sale. He is at most cscc events & maybe 1/2 the sdr events. Got to the cal club web site, do name lookup & email him

For myself I fave the 96 with LT4 power.
