I am new to this site and just want to thank you for having me. Great information here. I have a couple of things I wish to discuss. 1) Do you have to join a club in order to continue racing? or is it just incouraged? Secondly, I live in the Imperial Valley, and am trying to get events started back up in Holtville, hoping to run SOLO II out there. If anyone has any contacts out this way that can help me get in the right direction to exand into the EL Centro area please let me know. There is a greater demand for a safe racing enviroment now than ever before. I have never SOLO II before myself just been a big fan. I would like to know to go to Qualcom, is there a designated area to go observe the racing? Does it matter which club is racing? Can I go whenever I want as long as its an open day? Sorry for all the Q's but I am sure I will be leaving many more. Just want to do things right...........Thanks All.......Jeff

The enter key is your friend.
I'll answer the questions that I gleaned from there.
You just need a number card. If you want to compete for the season, you need to join a local club. By joining one of these clubs, you'll also get more say in how things are done here.

If he wants to compete for points; he can run all season without joining a club. :D

No, not required. Only required if you want to compete in the year-long championship points race. It's encouranged only because our events are all-volunteer, put on by the clubs. More club members means more volunteers to do the work to put on the events. :)

When you come in, you sign a waiver at the gate, and then you need to stay behind the line we set up that separates the grid/course from the paddock area.
Does it matter which club is racing?
All clubs get to play at all the championship events. Which club is hosting the event just indicates that they're the ones doing the lion's share of the work to run that day's event.
Can I go whenever I want as long as its an open day?
Yes. We rarely have closed days. Practices are open only to members with an SDR card, which you need to run at the championship races as well. When we say open or closed, we're referring to who's allowed to drive. Spectators are welcome at any event.
