Our very own Steve Schmidt is the winner of the name the new Solo e-newsletter contest. Steve's suggestion was selected as the name of the new Solo e-newsletter.

The following is from final edition of the Solo News before the launch of the e-newsletter in June.

Howard Duncan wrote:
"Since I have a particular bent towards double entendres and I want to have this publication build on the pride most of you have in the sport, the selection of the name of the e-newsletter is reflective of that. The winner is Steve Schmidt from the San Diego Region, SOPAC, who submitted “Solo Matters”.

Steve will receive a free entry into the Tire Rack Solo National Championship, and more importantly, will have a place in Solo history. Congratulations Steve on a very thoughtful and germaine suggestion!!"

Thanks, guys. I am very surprised...and pleased. :D

I sent it in late January and Howard replied, "This is a very good suggestion and moves into the top ten right away at a minimum." After a time I forgot about the whole thing.

I found out about the selection via an email from Mat Martis. At first I was not sure what he was talking about. Then I remembered the contest and found the email from Nancy. :banana:

This is no doubt the best finish I will ever get in any National Solo competition. ;) :rotflmao:
