Announcement<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Full Closure of Interstate 15 This Weekend
<O:p</O:p
Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed in both directions near Lake <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com /><st1:PlaceType w:st=Lake</st1:PlaceType> <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = " /><st1:PlaceType w:st="[/IMG]Lake</st1:PlaceType"><st1:PlaceName w:st=" /><st1:PlaceName w:st=" on?>Hodges</st1:PlaceName> starting at 10:00 p.m. this Saturday, March 18. The freeway is expected to reopen on Sunday, March 19 at 8:00 a.m. The freeway shutdown is needed for demolition of the <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Pomerado Road/West Bernardo Drive</st1:address></st1:Street> bridge over I-15. The bridge will be rebuilt as part of the I-15 Managed Lanes Project.
<O:p</O:p
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says an unusually difficult detour – with one-hour backups possible – should prompt motorists to avoid the area altogether. Northbound motorists will be detoured off the freeway and head east on <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Rancho Bernardo Road</st1:address></st1:Street>, drive north on <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Pomerado Road</st1:address></st1:Street> and connect back with the freeway. Southbound motorists will take the opposite approach, getting off at <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Pomerado Road</st1:address></st1:Street> and connecting back with the freeway via <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Rancho Bernardo Road</st1:address></st1:Street>.
