As you can see by the list above the blue and red groups are full with 30 entrants apiece The cutoff point is 90 entrants and the last group, yellow, is starting to fill. Get your registration in soon if you want to enter.

Are there any more slots left? Is there another way to pay and reserve the position? (maybe paypal?) Check by mail is slow and inefficient.

Hello Charlie,

I just wanted to let you know that I am on your
list for the April 1st practice (yellow group #6 on
your list) and the correct car number is 898 not
389. I don't know how much it matters for a practice
but I thought I would let you know.

Cheers,

the correct car number ... I don't know how much it matters for a practiceIt matters for sound control. Everyone should have thier proper numbers on the car they're driving.

Mail is the only way to register. We take everyone on a first come first serve basis by post date. That way it's equal for everyone. At this point there are only two spots left, however I have already had a few cancels and have filled them. I would expect that there will be more cancels to follow. We seem to average about 12 cancellations per event. No gauarantees but I will call everyone that dosen't make the entry list and put them on an overflow list. I will call again if they are upgraded to the entry list.

Hey Charlie!!

It's a hard job Charlie, but someone has to do it. The event after yours it's my turn.

Charlie, as per our discussion last weekend, I AM going fishing that day. A day and a half boat out of Seaforth. So go ahead and tear up my check and delete me from the list. Sorry to miss that job of emptying the trash cans you had planned for me as my work assignment. :(

I get back Sunday at 6 in the morning and hope to make the champ event.

c-ya then!!

I am in the Red Group, number 19 on the list:

Jon R. 577 #

Can I make a special request for a work assignment? I can't run and correct cones because I'm taking medication that causes blisters on my hands and feet. I can bring the bottle of meds, the list of side effects, and show you my nice blisters to prove I am not just being lazy! I don't like asking for special treatment, but I think this time I need to.
If this is not possible I will just tough it out as usual.
Thanks,
Jon

Usually the sponser club is able to accomodate this on a case by case basis. Often it's sufficient to ask the member in charge of work assignments (the one with the clip board near the t&s trailer). Or you could talk to the SSS I suppose. Could be a safety hazard to chase cones (of course somebody might also think you should not drive - so use your judgement)

:)

You can try and work the starter, finisher (the person with the post-its) or grid. The finish line person has a chair, so if you need that I'd ask for that. You'd still be working and doing jobs that are deemed important.

It's not that bad. If I have to I will just wrap band aids around my toes and worry about it later. In the grand scheme of things, blisters are the least of my problems :) But I do wear driving gloves to protect my hands and my feet only bother me while walking, so driving really is not a problem.
I know you can show up early and choose a job, I just thought I would throw it out there now just in case things filled up fast. I have a feeling people would understand and help me out, but usually I am too proud to ask for any special treatment.

And since I brought it up.....I have cancer and have been fighting it for over 16 months now. I'm kicking butt, staying positive, and hoping for the best. Don't feel bad for me; I have great friends and family and continue to enjoy life :) I'm not as worried about a cure anymore as I am about just living my life the way I want to and enjoying every minute of it.

That's what I was thinking. I just wanted to get my word in before thos jobs filled up.

On a side note: How's your car?

IMO... any club putting on an event should be able to accomodate a request like this. We have a few other people that are not put out on course also for this reason. As mentioned, there are other important jobs that need to be done.

They couldn't reproduce it, but they didn't have me there to drive it.

I think the heat of the day and the serveral laps had something to do with it, so I'm going to try and go again in the early afternoon on some warm day. The agreement on Nasioc isn't comforting since they are talking about 3rd party maps or tuner shops (and I'd rather not spend that cash).

Also some clubs do the work sign up at registration & non course worker jobs often go first so you could show up for early reg. also.

I have heard that autox has certain "curative" effects - go for it! :)

AWESOM O, I read your post and I should be able to work something out for you. Call or E-MAIL me and I'll get you squared away. CIVICSI887 I also read your e-mail and as you can see this is an all day event. If you wish to leave early you will need to get someone to work for you, ask around. If someone works in your place it's ok with us but they can only run if they are signed up. There have been several cancels and I am updating the entry list and will be posting it this afternoon.

Thanks

Was that the white LTD, dual pipes & a rear bar the size of (pick one) arm, leg, di --

Nevermind,

I was working the top and by the end of the practice you were getting that far turn around corner down pretty good.:D

Put some stickies & stiff springs & a quick steering rack on that & come back.

That's me. I think I saw my most improvement by concentrating on that corner. For the first few runs, my brain went into "stop the car" mode because I was braking so hard and I'd stab the clutch. By the time I realized I shouldn't have done that, I'd release the clutch and the rear end would get crazy loose. Getting power down was my biggest problem. I would have made the drift kids proud in some of those corners!

My car already has the quickest rack and stiffest springs they offered from the factory (including Mustangs), so I think I would just need some sticky tires and practice if I want to do this on a regular basis. But I met my personal time goal for that day (65 seconds), so I was happy.

I can't figure out how some people got so many runs. I ran 7 laps, and almost 8, but had to park it because my work group was coming up. While working the course I saw some cars 5-7 times during my work period. Granted those cars may have had multiple drivers, but it still makes me wonder what I was doing wrong to miss out on so many laps... Guess I need to get in line RIGHT when the group starts, though that's hard when we have to walk in from working.

My buddy managed 8 laps, so I know it's not just me. How many laps did other people run?

I was in yellow group which means I worked from 11:30 - 12:30 (more like 12:45) and 3:30 - 4:30. I didn't line up very first thing in the morning (I started at about 9:30) or after lunch.

I counted up my time slips and had 14. I definitely got my money's worth!
