Can a local class car (IS1) run in pax? What is the index?

I assume so.
The PAX is;
Improved Street 1: Average of SS and ASP
Improved Street 2: Average of BS and CSP
Improved Street 3: Average of DS and DSP

My understanding is that only national classes can run the PAX class.

Walter is correct;
PAX;
5.4.1 All entrants driving vehicles that compete in a SCCA Solo class are eligible to compete in this Regional class.

Hmmm.... it's not a SCCA Solo class, is a San Diego Region class.
But heck, run, beat a couple of National Champs and see what happens!

Well, if IS1 is empty like SS is empty, I might want to try it, but not if the results are thrown out.
The other possible classes (ASP, SU) are way to expensive to prep to.
Thanks guys.

Why not SS in PAX?
I want to try a litte more setup than ss allows. Just for fun & to learn how to setup a car.
I figure if I want to run pax at year end I can run asp pax as asp is a national class, I am not really concerned about the index running with pax level guys.

Possibly give SU a thought for next year. As of now, we will have a good competitive field with a variety of cars. It should be really fun. It also allows the freedom from the restrictions of SS to experiment with car setup. I think it could be more fun than getting beat up in PAX or competing by yourself in another class.
