Haha, too bad the video doesn't capture the spectators next to the trailer running for their lives (I was one of them). :D

Hahahaha.... after all the ruckus and making the spectators bolt and having trouble restarting the car: "Thank you." :D

By the way, that was 10 cones hit going through station 1. The event staff was concerned that the T&S software might choke on a double digit cone count.

The previous high for the day was set by Nicholas West in another BMW, in a remarkably similar maneuver. 8 cones.

Hey my car resembles that remark!!!!!!

Good thing it was a BMW, who knows who know's what anything less than the Ultimate Driving Machine might have done!

Is that like when you go off road, and you know you are going to hit something huge, so you unhook your thumbs and let go the wheel - to prevent broken fingers/wrists?

:D

Couldn't resist.

Haha! I did think of it but decided to let it go. Thanks for posting it for me. ;)
You phrased it much better/kinder than I would have.

You almost made the save. I can believe you drove all that in second gear, it must be a tall gear

Hi Randy. I really enjoyed this video. It put me in the mood for this year's events.

Thank you for sharing the Video Randy.

It's a great tool to show the need to hold the steering wheel at all times. I noticed 4 times he allowed the wheel to be let go of compleatly (including the end). Every time the car went loose on him.

Just so you all know, this video post is from last year ;-)

Also, could it be the car got loose then the driver released the wheel. A little loose you can't really see in a video. I know I'm sometimes guilty of letting go, but at times I feel the car (my truck) catches itself better than I do by fighting it. My neon was exactly the opposite though, if I let go in a slightly loose situation, the wheel jumped the wrong way. My truck and neon are so different, it could be a difference in drive, balance, alignment or tire size that makes the dramatic differance.
