I've got a car now that I want to try tossing around. I haven't heard much about getting more events at Del Mar and the GCR guy's website still shows a2005 calendar.
Bret, Matt, ... James? If the event doesn't conflict with a SDR, CSCC or National event weekend I can help out. Will the Del Mar races be following GCR prep class rules or SCCA prep rules?
Maybe if Del Mar really is promising, Randy will give RallyX it's own forum category. I think the scrapped forum used to have one.

I think it did too.
I'd really like to see more rallyx in the area, although I think I'd go to "rented car" (or co-drive if someone is willing) route. Wow the toe on my car was f'ed after the last time (and it's my daily driver).

Oh come on, who cares about toe. It can be fixed. :p
I'd love to know when the next one was as well (if there's going to be another one) cause I had a freaking blast. However I'll need to put the stock suspension back on again and get another two alignments. Someone should sponsor me just so I can get free alignments. lol

Dude, they're cheap, just buy a second one for a rallyx set up.

Who's the scantioning body? All I can find are some very far away California RC series races that are in the very distant future.

Another independent race that Eli Gilbert is trying to set up, he emailed me this morning about it. Not sure what rules, probably the same GCRallyX rules everyone is used to, but there has been talk about streamlining with the SCCA.
All unofficial, try to get ahold of Eli if you can on the info.

Ah, but not so easy to find the 2.3 in a hatch anymore. ;) I've been looking for something inexpensive, but the resale is actually going up on them. Weird.

Looks like I'm pimping this more than Eli is. :p In case anyone was interested and didn't know about it, online pre-registration is up. I know there's a Solo practice that same day, but just in case anyone was interested, it's here. :)

dirty = muddy?
how was the course compared to del mar? anyone roll over?
woodrufj

Really dusty and often soft. You'd never know it'd rained recently. Complete opposite from the delmar surface. I'll post a link later.
Small turn out. One car at a time again, but even more dogged by a 3minute course. They plesently turned down my advice on how to get two or three cars on course, and there for 2 or 3x the runs.
Bret has real plans to continue rallyXes at Del Mar.

I took this (below, schedule at bottom) from another forum. There should be some Del Mar events, but no dates set yet. There's an email contact for info:
Posted: Tue Feb 07, 2006 4:59 pm Post subject: 2006 California Rally Series RallyX Schedule
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
Read the line about additional dates before posting “they’re all too far…”
Laughlin is 50/50 to expand to two days, each day a separate points event, but it will happen on Saturday at least – it is being promoted “in-house” this year.
The loss of Altamont just weeks ago really hurt us – that was an awesome venue, not too far and would have hosted 3-4 more events.
We have put in place a system this season for me as CRS RallyX director to add events, at my discretion, on a 6 week’s notice and approve changes of dates not related to weather on a 3 weeks notice. Any event that changes dates outside those circumstances will not be a points event regardless of when the makeup date is.
The venue-specific drop rules remain in place.
Do not take this schedule as canon but think of it more as an outline.
We have no "offical" idea what the Gravel Crew may/maynot do.
Class rules have not changed.
Feel free to post any questions.

The CRS schedule page http://www.californiarallyseries.com/results.htm has been updated. Scroll down for the RallyX dates and keep on scrolling for the non-points dates since few here are running for CRS points.

But it's ok to enter in Championship events, even if one isn't out there for points, correct? Those two dates for SD look promising.

Correct - I was just pointing out that for those not running for points, it's not as important which ones you attend.
