Well, I m going to a Street tire class next yr(not sure which one yet) and I know there are a few new tires out wondering what would be the best pick.
I know the Z1 star specs are supposed to be one of the best tires, especially for the $

Wondering, has anyone seen any reviews on Kumho's new ecsta EX? Seems they were purpose made for Solo in mind.

I would most likely buy the Z1, except the tire sizing is making me think.

I can only get a 195/55R15 in the Z1 but I can get a 205/50R15 in the azenis and new Kumho. I was told the 195/55 Z1 should outperform the 205/ Azenis but wondering if the 205 Kumho would outperform both.

Any insight would be great!

Bridgestone RE 01s are the dominant tire in ST

The word I'm getting is the Kumhop XS isn't going to kill like they wanted it to.
Depending on the size the choices are Toyo R1R, 'Stones RE-01R, Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, and the Yoko ADVAN Neova AD07.
They're all better than the old standard Falken AZENIS RT-615's.
Finding the tire that works with you and your car requires just a little testing and $$
I'm waiting for the Toyo in the 225/45x15

good luck

Thanks for the info, looks like I will do some research on all them and see what I come up with.

I have direzza z1 star specs currently at 195/55R15 (5/32). They perform very well however the tall sidewall kills. Side by side with shaved 215/45R16s bridgestones the 15" Dunlops (5/32) are taller.

All i can say is that the Kumho's or the Bridgestone's are going to be the tire to have for next year. I enjoy my Dunlop's very much and they have PLENTY of grip but I am beginning to see all the drawbacks from the taller size.

ive got 225 45r17 on my subaru 04 wrx and they work well. havent been to a scca yet but hoping to change that. but.. they stick really well around turns at high speed. it takes a lot for me to break em loose sideways. its not good to burn out with my car much tho as the drivetrain takes all the shock and tires dont spin. next you hear you axle shatter. but thats just stock manual wrx's

get the kumhos you will love them!

hope to see u at any sd events:rock2:

Any of these tires being made in big sizes, such as a 315/30/18 or a 295/30/19? All I have found is the RT615 or the old Hankook in a 315/30/18.
