ok so my buddie and i are going to race a miata and wanted to know do we need anykind of a roll bar?? if so what kind??

you don't need a roll bar to autocross.

Yep. And if you have a upper body harness as well.


So, if you don't mod your car beyond SM2 and keep a 3pt or less belt you don't need a bar.

What are your plans with the car? What miata is it? There's a lot of classes the miata's are competitive in, I'd suggest you pick a class to aim for before making any changes to the car.
