Just wondering if they've contacted anyone in the local SCCA? The PCA-SDR received this "invitation" recently:

INVITATION TO INNER RING SUMMIT:

Greetings, fellow performance driving enthusiasts!

WIND ZERO (http://www.wind-zero.com) is a sporting club and training facility that is planning and designing a 5.96 mile, 1, 2, or 3 circuit road circuit that includes the world’s premiere “best of the best” track turns and is a short 75 minute drive from downtown San Diego. We need your help to understand your clubs' needs for a place to develop your skills, learn performance driving principles, and what you think 'a perfect day of driving' means to your members.

You are invited to participate in the WIND ZERO’s Inner Ring summit. - A private meeting for select Southern California car club and Motorsports leaders and executives will be held Tuesday February 5th- Time will be finalized by 25 JAN.

The session will provide a limited number of car club and motorsports leaders the opportunity to learn about the planned development of the WIND ZERO Drive Club. As mentioned, The club will feature a 5.96 mile 1, 2 or 3 circuit road course that includes the world’s premiere “best of the best” track turns.

Summit participants will gain insight into the facility, its layout and philosophy and will be able to collaborate and strategize with the WIND ZERO team to create a successful design, facility, and programs for the Southern California Driving enthusiasts.

Wind Zero looks forward to your participation.
The meeting is by invitation only.

Please review and consider the following issues prior to the meeting:

Describe your club:
Is it a chapter of a national club?
Are there other affiliate chapters of the club in the Southern California/Nevada/Arizona region?
How many members in your chapter?
Of those, how many would you say are primarily interested in performance driving, rather than say concourse, or social events?
What makes for a successful club and builds/retains membership?
Top reason for members joining?
What factors contribute to members leaving, or membership falling?
Top reasons for leaving?
Attrition rate?
What are your top concerns for your club and for your members?
Average term of a member?

Describe your members:
How often they drive?
What is important to them?
What other club-related events do they tend to enjoy?
Social
Technical
Concourse
Historical
Spectators of other Driving events (Race Series) etc.

Describe your favorite track:
How long?
How many turns?
How fast is it?
Is the surface good?
Do you feel safe when driving it?
Close to:
Hospital
Food
Lodging
Repair

What is missing at your favorite track?

What is necessary to make it:
Adequate?
A really good experience?
Take care of everything you could possibly want?

Amenities that would make a track more desirable?
Must haves: (Examples)
Paddock-accessible long term storage
Sheltered work bays in pit area
Mechanic
Race Equipment?
Tires?
(Pro Shop)
Family Amenities (to entertain the non-drivers)
Dining/Concession

Is car storage important?

What would make a driving day a perfect experience for you?

Special Requests?

From the sound of it, this is another pipe-dream, private track development out in the desert somewhere, with a law-enforcement-training/gun club twist. I'm dubious, but just wondering what other car clubs have been contacted for what appears to be a marketing study?

Even though it says the location is 75 minutes away from downtown San Diego, a big, unobstructed "skidpad & handling area" might be a future solution for a new autox venue when Qualcomm and El Toro go away. It's closer than Fontana by a few minutes, anyway.

“best of the best”"The best of the best of the best, Sir!"

Hmm, guns, cars. The only thing missing for first class hoonage is some kind of substance or spirit.

"exclusive membership only" for the motorsports club = expensive.
