Andy Hollis announced a new thing for this year, a Cone Clinic that will run before the Tours. See the thread at SCCAforums-
http://sccaforums.com/forums/1/174158/ShowThread.aspx#174158

SCCA National Tours will add a new element this year with the introduction of the "Cone Clinic" as part of the Friday pre-competition festivities. These two-hour, intensive mini-schools are designed for participants to refresh and enhance their skills prior to the big show. With good value for all levels of competitors, these clinics should improve participants' Tour experience and encourage them to come back for more.
Under the guidance of veteran instructors and multi-time national champs Ann & Andy Hollis, participants will get one-on-one in-car instruction in a focused environment. By limiting entry to 21 each driver should receive at least 12 runs through the specially-designed course.
Schools will run on the Friday before each event starting at 8:30 am, with runs starting by 9:00 and concluding at 11:00. Pre-registration/payment is advised to ensure a spot and is available at DLBRacing.com. The cost is only $50.

Am I correct in that they will want to use the practice course and then turn it back over to the local region at 11:00am? This may conflict with the way we handled the practice course last year, opening it up a lot earlier.

Please read my post on SCCA Forums about this cone clinic. You'll enjoy it - I am quite irate about the whole matter and if you read the post you'll see why. The event chair knows NOTHING about a cone clinic and it goes downhill from there. All opinions are mine - Duerst doesn't even know I'm posting. Leslie sts37

You know Steve, at the bottom of your post on the other site there was a link for reporting abuse. Think it'll work?

What is also interesting is that Ann and Andy are teaching these events. I wonder how Jean Kinser feels about this???

The latest reply I read from Andy says that they plan to run the cone clinic in the north west lot, the area where the main event course will be set up.

I think this would have a major impact on the group setting up the main course beginning on Thursday evening, as they would have to rip it up for the cone clinic, and then put it back down (in a hurry) on Friday.

Hi Everyone! I may get in trouble from my husband for this post but what the heck. Lots of talking has been going on. Cindy called me last night and we a good and frank talk (I am not an event officical - I just answered the phone so we talked). Mark has been talking with Cindy today. You may relax about Andy's plans - he may say whatever he wants but Mark and Cindy both have a good handle on the issues and there are things to be worked out. From what I can see, your chairs (Mark and Steve) have a good head for this and are looking out for us! Leslie (probably about to be strangled by her husband - she's such a rabble rouser!)

Someone could make hats, decals, and t-shirts and sell it at the tour. :D
