Hi, I have 2 questions:

I have a 2007 Mazda 3 (not turbo) with these mods:
Lowering Springs
Rear Sway bar
Frot Strut Tower bar
Cat-back exhaust
K&N Cold Air Intake
Daily driving street tires

I've been running in IS3 for most of my autocrosses, is this the most competitive class I could be in? Can I run in HSP?

And the second question, can I have a person in the class I'm running to talk to at the autocross on october 7? I'd just like to meet somebody that goes to these a lot and runs in my class so I can ask them a couple of questions about strategy and etc.

Run STS.

No, you won't be competitive but I will talk to you. There is another Mazda3 that runs STS sometimes. I don't know if he will be there this weekend. Brandon is his name.

I will be at registration selling cards all morning. Ask for Warren.

Can I run in HSP?BTW, no such thing as HSP. Street Prepared goes A-F.

Level of prep is basically

SK (stock cars on street tires)*
Stock (R-comps allowed)
ST classes (many SP allownces, but on street tires)
IS (many SP allowances, R-comps allowed)*
SP
SM
SU (catch all)*
Prep (unrecognizable production cars)
Mod (ground up builds)

*='Regional' classes, something we made up locally that the National body doesn't run.

Ok that helps a lot. Thanks for the info. :D

I do know Brandon, he comes to the Mazda 3 meets with us sometime. I'm bringing another one of my Mazda 3 friends on Sunday (he has a sedan), who will probably compete with me in the STS class. It'll be a great way to see whether the sedan or the hatch are better for autocross since we're running the same tires and are about the same in driver skill.

Warren, I will look for you on sunday morning at the sign up table. Thanks!
