So as many people do, i occasionally personify my car. You know you do, it you sit there behind the wheel and talk to the car, beg it not to die on you, etc. So at what point is that car no longer that car? Say you replace the engine, the chassis, etc., at some point does it become a different car than what you had before?

Souls can't be removed, but you can certianly lose the connection to your car's soul.
Here's a few
Significant other starts saying 'our car'.
Best friend pukes in back seat.

Once you break your back and scrape your knuckles working on your car does the car feel truly special to you. Sliding the car at it's limit is another way to connect to your car. And then there's the things guys always want to do in the car which will connect you in a special way.

I was so scared that I'd read something about third degree burns and cars' tailpipes :(
I can't think of a post I've made with any worst taste

The Soul of my 65 was there in the body. It seemed to whimper and beg for me to buy it.
Then I rebuilt the engine and swapped in a 4 speed.
The attitude went from whimpy to Evil.
Every mod she receives, the more intense this attitude becomes.
How many have had their cars talk to them?
There are times when I get woken up at 2 am ...(coming from the garage) I hear this "psst..psst! You know its gonna be sunny and dry tomorrow...let's break the sound barrier thru the canyon"
