Are wheel spacers legal in STS2? I looked through the rule book and didn't see any mention of them, anyone know?

Yes they are

Stock allows them so it make it ok in STS
STOCK CATEGORY
13.4 WHEELS
Wheel spacers are permitted, provided the resultant combination
complies with the offset requirements of this section. Wheel studs,
lug nuts, and/or bolt length may be changed.

14.1 AUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS - STS
A. All Solo Rules Stock Category allowances, plus all allowances
contained in 14.1 through 14.10.

So that's 1/4 in. max if I recall correctly.

By the letter of the rules, this all may be true, but by the intent of the rules (i.e.
14.4 WHEELS
A. Any wheels up to 7.5" in width that fit over stock brakes.)

I would guess that you can run any spacers you want because what would be the difference between running an ET 50mm wheel with a 20mm spacer and running an ET 30mm wheel except for requiring you to run extra long lug bolts. It certainly doesn't provide you with an unfair advantage. To the contrary, you will probably end up with more unsprung weight.

But I will leave that for others to confirm.

No, that's the stock spec for wheel+spacer offset vs OEM offset. Spacers are allowed to be any size so long as the combo with the wheel meets the rules.

For rules purposes spacers are essentially considered part of the wheel.

Just trying to understand the rules, so you could run a skinny wheel (say 1 inch less than stock wheel) with a 1 1/4 thick spacer and be legal?

Off set and rim width are entirely different things.

Off set is the milimeters the wheel-to-car surface is from the center of the rim. Back spacing is just another way of measuring the same thing, its the distance from the inner rim edge to the wheel-to-car surface, usually in inches.

I should clearly stay in stock classes for a long time.
